Privacy Policy
Last updated November 2, 2026
This policy explains what personal information [Company legal name] collects through the Site, how we use and share it, and your choices. We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Information we collect
- Account: your name, email address and sign-in identifiers from our sign-in provider.
- Selling: vehicles and VINs you add, listings, photos, ZIP code and city, yard name, address, phone and license number, and documents you upload such as licenses, titles and bills of sale.
- Buying: orders, shipping address, pickup codes, claims, return details and photos.
- Payments: handled by our payment provider (Stripe). We receive limited details such as payout status and the last digits of a card, not full card or bank numbers. For identity verification, the provider may collect government ID and tax information, under its own privacy policy.
- Communications: questions and answers, part requests and quotes, messages to us, Spotted tips, and part alerts (the vehicles and parts you ask to hear about).
- Moderation: text our screening tools block (stored with phone numbers and emails masked).
- Technical: IP address, device and browser information, pages visited, and logs needed to run and secure the Site. We use cookies that are needed for sign-in and security. We do not use advertising cookies.
How we use it
- To run the marketplace: listings, search, checkout, shipping, pickups, payouts, returns and disputes.
- To verify sellers, review documents, and prevent fraud, theft and abuse, including screening for off-Site contact and duplicate VINs.
- To comply with law, including tax, marketplace and seller-verification laws, and to respond to legal requests.
- To send service emails, and part alert emails if you set them up. Every alert email has a link to change your alerts or unsubscribe.
- To improve the Site, using aggregated or de-identified data where we can.
What other users see
Buyers see listings, photos, the donor vehicle’s year, make, model and full VIN (so buyers can confirm fit), the seller type and city, and public questions and answers. We do not show private sellers’ names, emails or phone numbers, or yards’ names, to buyers. After a sale, the seller receives what they need to fulfill it, such as the shipping address. Seller documents are visible only to the seller and to us.
Who we share it with
- Service providers who run the Site for us under contract, such as Amazon Web Services (hosting, storage and sign-in), our payment provider, shipping carriers and email providers.
- Law enforcement, state agencies, NMVTIS or the National Insurance Crime Bureau, when required by law or when we believe in good faith it is needed to investigate stolen vehicles or parts, fraud, or to protect people.
- A buyer or successor if we sell or reorganize the business, under this policy.
- Others with your direction or consent.
How long we keep it
We keep account and transaction records while your account is open and for up to 7 years after, for tax, legal and dispute purposes. Seller documents are kept for at least 3 years after the related vehicle is added, longer if a legal hold or investigation requires. Photos we haven’t attached to a listing are deleted after 2 days.
Your choices and rights
You can see and update most of your information in your account. You can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your personal information by emailing [legal email]. Depending on where you live (for example, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other states with privacy laws), you may have these rights by law. We will verify your request and respond within the time the law requires, and we will not discriminate against you for using them. Some information we must keep, such as transaction records and documents related to stolen-property or tax obligations. You may use an authorized agent, and you may appeal a decision by replying to our response.
Security
We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and private storage for documents. No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach that affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
Children
The Site is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes and contact
We will post changes here and, if they are material, tell you by email or on the Site. Questions: [legal email], or by mail to [Company legal name], [Mailing address].
